As election in Karnataka are around the corner, here’s a look at voter base…

Karnataka has a total of 5.21 crore people eligible to vote.

Out of the 5.21 crore, 5.55 lakh are PwD electors. Service electors account for 47,779.

For the first time, the state has home voting facility for 12.15 lakh senior citizens (aged above 80+ years) & PwD voters.

There are 2.62 crore male voters in the state.

Women voters stand at 2.59 crore.

Out of the total 42,756 transgenders in the state, 41,312 are registered into electoral roll.

The gender ratio in Karnataka is at 988.

Karnataka also has over 9.17 lakh first-time voters.

Community wise, Lingayats constitute about 17%, Vokkaligas 15%, OBCs 35%, SC/STs 18%, Muslims 12.92%, & Brahmins 3%.

The term of the Legislative Assembly of Karnataka is due to expire on May 25.

Karnataka elections 2023 will take place on May 10 for the 224 constituencies. The counting of votes will be held on May 13.
